AberdeenMindful is facilitated by Silvia Wehmeier (PhD), who trained as a Mindfulness Teacher to facilitate the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Silvia trained with Dr Margaret McLean (Consultant Counselling Psychologist,  offering MBSR courses at NHS Grampian). Silvia taught an ‘Introduction to Mindfulness’ programme and has offered Mindfulness  ‘drop-in’  sessions at the University of Aberdeen.  She is a member of the Grampian Mindfulness Network, which brings together people from NHS Grampian, RGU and the University of Aberdeen.  To AberdeenMindful, Silvia brings over ten years of mindfulness practice and personal development through training events and retreats.  Silvia has been working for ten years as a Research Scientist in Medical Sciences. She is now engaged in Teaching and Learning at the University of Aberdeen, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in the Person-Centred Approach.
